About Afternoon Time

We will offer an array of hats, boas, and for “ up”. Campers may bring any “ up” items they’d like to wear during the lunch. Please let me know by email, or on the first day of camp, if you do not want photos of your child to be posted on our website or social media.

Since lunch is provided as part of the “Afternoon Tea”, choices of items and soups for the day will be provided prior to camp. Campers must have passed their 7th birthday to attend. This will a very limited attendance, so we cannot hold any camper spots for more than 1 day. If your child has friends who want to join them at camp, feel free to call me to hold the spots for the children.

To be clear, children will not be touching stoves or hot ovens.
Soups will be made (as a group) in crockpots then taken away to the kitchen to cook. We will make buttercream together for cupcake/cookie decorating, and we will melt candy melts for dipping cookies or other sweets. Our Sandwiches will include Ham, Cheddar or Provolone, Pimento- Spread, Cucumber-CreamCheese, and Jam with Marshmallow (if requested.) Our hope is we have adventurous eaters, not finicky ones.) Once camp begins, we may talk with the campers about and soup preferences and may offer other choices by request.

Soups will include Chicken Rice, Creamy Mushroom and/or Tomato Soup and may offer others by request. We will be sure to have at least one type of and soup your child likes to be sure they have plenty to eat for other than sweets! You may offer suggestions or requests with your registration as well. Please keep in mind, items requested must be possible to make during our short preparation time in the mornings. Campers will also prepare fruit-infused ice water for each table and there will also be a Hot Tea Service served each day. (for safety reasons, adults will be pouring.)

This camp is about learning about Afternoon Tea (and the difference between High and Afternoon Tea); Afternoon Tea meal preparation; the of art of sweets and cupcake decorating; and creating projects related to Afternoon Tea. This is not a cooking or baking camp, but we will help prepare all of the food for each day’s luncheon. Cooking and baking will take place in the kitchen, where small children will not be permitted.

We designed the camp curriculum carefully to work best with the age range of 7-14 years, taking into consideration things like a child’s size and manual dexterity. Please follow the age requirements. For older children please understand, there may be children as young as 7 yrs. old in their camp group.

Campers may bring something to wear during the luncheon, if they wish. Please send a refillable bottle of water, which we can refill with ice and during the day as needed. Be sure to label items with their name. Please also send a container to bring home “leftovers” if there are any.

Campers should wear clothes that can get messy, and closed-toe (old sneakers or crocs are great; please, NO flip-flops or sandals).
